Animal that has a segmented body: the ant in the very center of this picture has a body that is in three parts, the head, abdomen, and thorax.

Bilateral symmetry: this leaf has a single axis of symmetry, both sides are identical.

Ectotherm: this tortoise has a variable body temperature that is determined by its environment.

Endotherm: my dog is an endotherm because she has the ability to maintain a constant body temperature over a wide range of environmental conditions.

Epithelial tissue: the skin on my foot is made up of closely packed animal cells in single or multiple layers and serve as a layer of protection over the body.

Ethylene: this apple contains ethylene, a hormone that stimulates the ripening of fruit.

Eukaryote: this branch is a multi-cellular object and its cells contain a membrane bound nucleus and other membrane bound organelles.

Frond: a front is a large divided leaf, like this fern.

Heterotroph: organisms that obtain their nutrition by breaking down the organic compounds in food, like this pelican.
