endosperm- is the tissue produced inside the seeds of most flowering plants around the time of fertilization. it surrounds the embryo and provides nutrition.

endotherm- animals that maintain a constant body temperature independent of of the environment. cats have metabolism that allow them to cool down or heat up as needed.

gymnosperm cone- gymnosperms are a type of plant that reproduce by seed that is not enclosed. their seeds are developed into the form of cones.

epithelial tissue- epithelial tissue lines the cavities and surfaces of structures throughout the body.

eukaryote- a eukaryote is an organism whose cells contain complex structures encolsed within membranes.

exoskeleton- an external skeleton that supports and protects an animals body.

flower ovary- the ovary of a plant is the female reproductive organ of the flower, it holds the ovules and when ripened becomes a fruit.


genetically modified organism- an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering. cucumbers have modified dna to withstand pests and premature softening.
frond- a frond is a large leaf usually with many divisions.
ectotherm- an animal whose body temperature varies with the temperature of its surrounding.
